Dumpy does Donington

On Friday 22nd June 2001 Dumpy played a guest spot with Hawkwind at the Derby Rock and Blues Festival.

The Festival was moved to Donington this year due to the Foot and Mouth crisis that has swept the country.

After sound-checking the version of "Sonic Attack" he was to do that night, Dumpy and his webslave, Roger, headed for the Beer Tent, which was a bit of a mistake as their own tent hadn't yet been put up.The erecting of their accomodation for the night was later videoed by an amused Dave Brock!

The line-up for Friday night was Stone, Eddie and the Hotrods, The Animals, Meatloaf2 and headlining, Hawkwind who played a brilliant set that the large audience really enjoyed.One of the highlights of the night was Dumpy's guest spot.He came on to do just one number "Sonic Attack" and with his famous Goggles guitar prominent he produced a blinding version of this great track reminiscent of the great Bob Calvert. The Hawkwind line up was Dave, Ali, Richard, Jerry, Simon, Ron, Huw, and Keith.
